About
Get to know me
Wife, mom, survivor, wellness coach, and storyteller — though not in that order.
I'm Sarah — wife, mom, writer, and wellness coach. I'm also a survivor: I lived through what should have destroyed me — abuse, trafficking, and a broken foster care system. The full story, from the very beginning, is becoming a book: my memoir, How He Raised Me.
That story became a voice. With Voices for Change I've spoken on panels about trafficking and foster care reform, shared my testimony with young girls to help them find the courage to speak, and carried it all the way to Washington, D.C., to talk to Congress about changing the system.
In 2019, just weeks after the birth of our miracle daughter, I was diagnosed with stage 3 metastatic melanoma. I have been cancer free since August 2019 — and that season sent me back to school for a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition with a concentration in Holistic Nutrition, graduated with honors, and into my practice, Nourishing Pathways — personalized health coaching built on accountability, encouragement, and empathy.
The storyteller in me never stopped writing. I chronicle my faith journey on my blog, How He Raised Me, and I'm currently writing two books at once: the memoir, and We Were Never Lost, the first novel in a psychological thriller trilogy.
